What Are The Top 3 Roles IT Leaders Plan to Recruit For In 2023?

We’ve been getting that question from IT job hunters a lot lately. And with a new year right around the corner, we’re helping IT candidates prepare for some exceptional opportunities.

IT professionals will also face some employment and career management challenges in 2023.

But the bottom line is the coming year will be excellent for veteran IT professionals, as well as first-time IT job seekers looking for high-paying tech jobs in 2023. The technology experts at Forbes offered some thoughts in a recent post:

In 2023, we see the continuation of innovations and developments in transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the internet of things (IoT), virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), cloud computing, blockchain, and super-fast network protocols like 5G. What’s more, these transformational digital technologies do not exist in isolation from each other, and we will see the boundaries between them blurring.

Technology is becoming more specialized, but the boundaries between specialties and vertical markets are starting to blend.

So what are the top three positions that IT leaders will be recruiting for in 2023?

We’ll skip the drum roll! If you do an internet search, you’ll find several dozen different predictions with specialized job descriptions. But we do see several recurring themes for job openings from our hiring companies and engaged candidates. These trends follow the larger trends in IT, like digital transformation and cloud computing.

The bottom line is three positions will continue to be in high demand in 2023 and beyond. And they don’t require any hyper-specialized skill sets or software development expertise. These high-paying roles require an overall knowledge of the cloud, its technologies, and its architecture.

At Patel Consultants, we’ll be helping candidates like you with the tools you need to manage your professional career your way in 2023. Call us today at 908-964-7575, and let’s start planning an incredible 2023.

So let’s get started.

DevOps positions in 2023 will be in high demand.

In a nutshell, DevOps merges the software development and IT operations functions. DevOps professionals are not coders, but they have developed a comprehensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle and process.

Knowledge of cloud systems, networks, security, container orchestration, and serverless technologies are some prerequisites. The good news is that there are plenty of excellent opportunities to obtain certifications and learn online at your own pace.

A Cloud Guru, Udemy, and LinkedIn Learning are a few places where you can pursue valuable hands-on DevOps knowledge and certifications.

SimpliLearn recently reported that there has been a 75% increase in DevOps jobs on the major boards in recent months.

This field is growing exponentially.

Data Analytics and Business Intelligence jobs continue to grow.

Data analytics is the precursor to generating business intelligence in the form of reports and trends. As digital transformation and cloud computing continue to explode, businesses will aggressively expand their search for digital business insights.

Analytics and BI professionals have experiential knowledge in information infrastructures and data aggregation, preparation, shaping, and analysis.

Their knowledge base includes data formats, structured and unstructured data, storage infrastructures, data warehousing, data streaming, IoT data, and more.

Analytics expertise is in high demand in 2022, and that trend will continue into 2023.

Cloud Engineering jobs in 2023 are also continuing strong growth trends.

Cloud computing is outpacing the legacy IT market, which will continue well beyond 2023. Cloud engineers have the same essential responsibilities as legacy IT system engineers. The only difference is that they use cloud technologies, services, and infrastructures instead of on-prem or hosted IT assets.

Responsibilities include engineering design of computing, storage, network, and application infrastructures, along with security design and/or design oversight.

Cloud engineering jobs will continue to grow significantly with the overall IT trends toward the cloud and digital transformation in 2023.

And that’s good news for IT job candidates.
